Totally incapable of decorating. I know, I know, submissions are due tomorrow and I need to be concentrating. I AM. Kind of.

I hung up these nice mobile paper squares from a girl I know named Aimee.

New idea: go to school to become a high school English teacher. Teach at a magnet arts school in New York. Realistic? Probably not.

I get Monday and Tuesday off because work was foolish. Yea! More time to slack off, I mean finish my schoolwork. This semester is just about over. Hooray for a fresh start.

Time to write more letters. And make phone calls.

-watched Brick last night. Meh.
-listening too much to: PJ Harvey (who’s surprised?)
-reading whatever I feel like since I’m having a quick break. tonight I’ll start Another Bullshit Night In Suck City.
-today’s eats: tuna fish, chickpeas with goddess dressing, and granola with soy yogurt. what a life I lead.

P.S. I have a laundry question. Please explain your laundry process here. For example, I put the clothes in and then put in two cups of detergent. Joe puts the clothes in and then one cup of detergent. Then during the wash cycle, he adds another cup. Jen G. only puts one cup in at the very beginning. Aimee tried to tell me that I don’t even need detergent because she’s a dirty hippie. Anyone else?

  • >I suck at decorating, too. Laundry: – boil some water in a bucket using a portable boiler- throw in my clothes to soak for half an hour- change the water for cold water and add Dr. Bronner’s peppermint soap- put on rubber gloves- scrub- rinse and strain- rinse and strain- rinse and strain- wring- put stuff on hangers and decorate my kitchen with wet clothes- wait 2 days and they’re good as new! (errr, kinda)

  • >P.S. Your cat is really cute.

    >hey, hey! you know there was more to what i said than that. HAHAA. i’m in the jen g. camp but i said that there is so much residual detergent left that you probably could run it w/o any and your clothes would still get clean. besides the fact that washing clothes doesn’t really get them clean; it just distributes the dirtiness. and who do i have to thank for knowing that? oh, that would be li’l gi who gave me the hypochondriac’s manual.hahaaaa.

    >I add 1/4 cup (according to my front load washer, that’s all you need) at the very beginning of the load and that’s it. As if I have time to wait around till the wash cycle…and fragrance/dye/phosphate/cruelty-free detergents are the way to go.
