>Moving through another goal

>For the first time, I attended three Aikido classes in a row. I was nervous leading up to entering the dojo tonight, the kind of nervousness I used to get when I first started practicing, but I love challenging myself and this turned out to be a perfect goal for me to accomplish.

My first partner– one of my favorite practice partners– must have been reading my mind (or my blog) because we spent the whole class focusing on my center and maintaining circular movements.

The second class, I worked with an old standby, a tried-and-true mentor, who finds my edge and gently nudges me from the place where I can move forward.

My third partner is more of a beginner than me. We were quite a pair, figuring out each technique on our own. I had accidentally hit him in the face during group work in the second class, so in the last class I tried not to do any extra harm.

I’m famished, but also quiet, contained, calm, and satisfied.
