>broken, a lesson in time

My camera is broken. The day has come. It’s not completely broken. It will take pictures and I can upload pictures, but I can’t use the screen to change the settings or to see the pictures that I am taking. To be accurate, the screen is broken. I dropped the camera while in Florida, and since I’ve been dependent on photos to create narrative, I will have to lean more on my writing and away from imagery to tell stories on my blog. This summer I will be able to borrow a camera, but in the meantime there will be fewer pictures appearing on this site.

Currently I have swimmer’s ear. Joe has attempted to flush out my ear with warm water and alcohol, but nothing helps. I think my balance is off because I keep hitting my head against walls and my Aikido seems worse than usual. I’m thinking of getting some wax cones and over-the-counter drops.

It’s amazing how the ocean remains inside and outside the body long after you leave.
